The proceedings in the Star-Chamber, in 1632. against Henry Sherfield, Esq; an antient bencher of Lincoln's Inn, justice of the peace, and Recorder of the city of Salisbury, for breaking down painted glass in the church of St. Edmonds in the said City, representing God the Father by little old Men in blew and red Coats creating the World; and though the painted Glass was broken down by Order of the Vestry, Mr. Sherfield was fin'd 500 l. and lost his Place. Wherein the authority of the Bishoip of the Diociss and the Power of Vestries, with relation to making any Alteration in, or Repairing of Churches, is consider'd.
